Brandon Freels has an MS in Writing (Publishing) from Portland State University. He has done design work for Future Tense Books and Portland State’s Ooligan Press. At Ooligan, he designed the interior for Ruth Tenzer Feldman’s YA novel Blue Thread and the cover of Daniel Kine’s novel Up Nights. He has interned at AK Press in Oakland, 826 Valencia in San Francisco, Cleis Press and Viva Editions in Berkeley, and has done volunteer design and editing work for Maximum Rocknroll. He is also a writer of art journalism and poetry. His poems have appeared in The Bitter Oleander, Exquisite Corpse, Spork, Hobart, and other publications. He grew up in Portland, Oregon, and has lived in Oakland, San Francisco, and New Orleans. Currently, he resides in Brooklyn.
